Billboard Live TAIPEI

If youโ€™ve ever been lifted up by the fiery spirit of songs like โ€œGurengeโ€ or โ€œZenzenzenseโ€ from your screen, then you definitely shouldnโ€™t miss this live performance.

Billboard Live TAIPEI has prepared an exclusive interview with HARAMI ahead of her Taipei show. The pianist who turns every performance into a joyful party shared many heartfelt thoughts with us before setting off for the stage. From once giving up music to become an office worker, to now performing at the legendary Nippon Budokan, HARAMIโ€™s journey wasnโ€™t built only on strict technique, but on her passion to share happiness with everyone through music.

She also revealed that besides the beloved Japanese classics fans are hoping to hear, sheโ€™s planning to challenge herself with a โ€œTaiwan-exclusiveโ€ surprise song, hoping to unleash all the joyful energy she has built up over the years in Taipei.

1. This performance will take place at the newly opened Billboard Live TAIPEI. Besides your classic repertoire, will there be any Taipei-exclusive surprises?

HARAMI: In addition to performing many Japanese songs that are loved by fans in Taiwan, I would also be very happy to take this opportunity to challenge myself by playing Taiwanese songs.

2. In terms of your tour schedule, is Taipei the first stop outside Japan? What challenges do you expect when performing overseas?

HARAMI: In January this year, I held my first overseas performance in Paris, France. Because piano is a form of expression that doesnโ€™t rely on language, I truly felt how music can transcend language barriers and create resonance between people. That experience made me very happy.

If I can create that same warm and beautiful atmosphere together with everyone in Taiwan, I would be very happy.

3. You recently became the first female pianist in 15 years to hold a solo concert at Nippon Budokan, and your musical journey continues to expand to different places. Taiwan also has many iconic venues โ€” have you heard of any, and which would you like to challenge?

HARAMI: Iโ€™ve always known about the Kaohsiung Music Center, because many excellent artists from Japan often perform there. Its creative architecture and the beautiful lighting at night make it a very inspiring venue.

4. Is this your first time in Taiwan? Have you done any research beforehand? What food and places are you most excited about?

HARAMI: When I was in music university, I once traveled to Taiwan with friends. The xiaolongbao I ate back then was so delicious that I still canโ€™t forget it.

This time, Iโ€™m especially excited to try the authentic Taiwanese castella cake that has recently become very popular in Japan. I really want to eat a lot of it! Iโ€™m also looking forward to braised pork rice, hot pot, and bubble milk tea.

5. Your YouTube channel has surpassed 900 million views. When you first decided to become a performer, did you worry that people might not understand your music? What do you think is the key to your success?

HARAMI: I once gave up on my childhood dream of becoming a pianist and started working as an office worker. Later, due to health issues, I had to take a leave from work and spent a long time staying at home, isolated from the outside world.

During that time, I went out to play piano on the street for the first time as a way to lift my mood. I uploaded the video online, and it unexpectedly received two million views. That moment became the starting point of my current career.

Because I once gave up on my dream out of anxiety, discovering through YouTube that so many people actually wanted to hear my music gave me hope again.

I believe the most important element of success is โ€œencounters.โ€ I could never have come this far on my own. Itโ€™s because I cherish the fans Iโ€™ve met and the people who support me that Iโ€™ve been given opportunity after opportunity, allowing me to create my own path.

6. What are your plans for this year?

HARAMI: Starting in April, I will begin a nationwide tour across all 47 prefectures of Japan. It will be the largest tour Iโ€™ve ever done, and Iโ€™m already very excited about it.

I would also be very happy if fans from Taiwan happen to visit Japan and come to my concerts during the tour. I really look forward to seeing everyone!

A performance that has already sailed through Paris and bloomed on the stage of Nippon Budokan is now heading to Taipei on March 7.

HARAMI is not only bringing her extraordinary piano skills, but also the bright, uplifting smile that fills people with energy. Whether youโ€™re here for anime classics or simply looking to recharge your spirit, donโ€™t miss this rare chance to experience her healing music up close.

The countdown to the show has begun โ€” come join HARAMI and letโ€™s fill the venue with music, laughter, and joy!
