Performance Introduction

Singer-songwriter Strange Reitaro has been active in the Japanese music scene for over 25 years, collaborating with popular artists such as Masaki Suda and Moeka Shiotsuka of Hitsujibungaku, and performing the theme song “Ai ga Subete no Koto” for the winter 2026 drama Tsui no Hito. He now makes his first appearance at Billboard Live TAIPEI.

Born in Osaka, Strange Reitaro began his music career in 1998. After performing with various bands including Strange Reitaro Travel Swing Orchestra, Tensaiband, and Animations, he officially launched his solo career in 2017.

With an unclassifiable creative approach and a highly distinctive voice, he has established a singular and unmistakable world of his own within the Japanese music scene.

His music spans folk, blues, jazz, soul, and pop, blending warm, sunlit acoustic guitar sounds with a direct and emotionally resonant vocal style. The result is music that feels light yet intimate— quietly moving listeners before they even realize it.

His voice has touched not only devoted fans, but also many creators and actors. Actress Hana Sugisaki once described his singing as “a key that gently unlocks a heavy heart.”

In 2023, he released the album Strange Reitaro, featuring guest appearances by Masaki Suda, Moeka Shiotsuka, and Hikorohi. That same year, his solo concert at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall sold out, further proving his irreplaceable presence on stage.

In addition to performing at major music festivals such as FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL and RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL, he continues to expand his creative activities into commercials, film, and other visual media.

For this performance, Strange Reitaro will take the stage with his longtime bandmates at Billboard Live TAIPEI, delivering a live experience that allows audiences to fully immerse themselves in his rich and deeply personal musical world.
