Performance Introduction
Jazz quintet Butcher Brown from Richmond, Virginia will make their Taipei appearance in February 2026.
In March 2025, Butcher Brown released their new album Letters From The Atlantic, following the critically acclaimed Solar Music. With a more restrained, fluid, and richly layered sound, the album unfolds as a musical journey that transcends geography and memory.
Drawing inspiration from the shores of Virginia, the music travels through New York and down the East Coast to southern Florida, before crossing the Atlantic and expanding into cities and landscapes across Europe. Jazz improvisation, hip-hop rhythms, and elements of funk, R&B, soul, bossa nova, and house music blend seamlessly to create Butcher Brown’s signature indie groove.
The Taipei performance will feature drummer Corey Fonville, bassist Andrew Randazzo, trumpeter/saxophonist/MC Marcus “Tennishu” Tenney, and guitarist Morgan Burrs.
For this tour, keyboardist Sam Fribush, known for his work with his own Organ Trio, will join the lineup in place of original member DJ Harrison.
Letters From The Atlantic is more than an album—it is a musical letter written to the world.
On February 28, 2026, Butcher Brown will bring this journey to the stage at Billboard Live TAIPEI, delivering a live performance straight from the other side of the Atlantic.
